Welcome to Robbert Ruigrok’s Home Page. Photos of paintings and Biography can be found on the right -> on Pages 01, 02, 03, etc…

Born in Brussels (1960), from Dutch and Italian parents, Robbert Ruigrok lives and works in London. His work fluctuates between abstraction and figuration and expresses the tension and dynamics between the world of ideals and the realities of human experience and perception. This work is a search for values that can take shape in this reality – despite the very challenging circumstances of the 21st century. In that battle, the occasional victories are like rivers streaming forward despite – or thanks to – their banks: our human limitations, sometimes even failures. However, ready-mades are used in a completely different context than their original, intended functions. Ready-mades are elevated to the status of art simply because the artist says they are art.” See: http://arthistory.about.com/od/glossary_r/g/Definition-of-Ready-Made.htm.
